Very poor weather has meant we have been able to cut the green only once this year and we have been unable to switch on some 28 days since the start of the year (well over 40% of the time).

A group of stalwarts headed by John S have been busy trying to sort things out ahead of April - the opening of the Green.

Starting with the Clubhouse, there has been a re-development of the Ladies, a new honours board, sorted out pictures, noticeboards and extensive painting - walls & ceiling. Outside there has been extensive repair and painting at the back of the building and the equipment shed, which has also been cleaned out. Pushers and scoreboards have been painted and the equipment trolley sorted. There has been a screened panel area constructed next to the equipment shed. In addition areas of the lower roof of the sheds has been attended to.

Outside, there has been a cut of the area in front of the clubhouse, holes in the green filled in and repair of the backboards damaged by the falling tree. Drains and roof gutters have been cleared of debris. On the gardening front, there has been a lot of gathering of debris, weeding, cutting back, trimming and turning over the soil.

The few have achieved a great deal, what could we achieve with more volunteers?
