On a hot day, the Pairs took place. In the Ladies section Wendy & Pauline C played Gillian & Pauline T whilst the Men pitted favourites Colin & Tom against Vernon & James.

The members watching were not disappointed. They witnessed two enthralling matches played over 18 ends. At the half-way point, Wendy & Pauline C were one shot ahead whilst on the adjacent rink, James & Vernon were 2 up.

The second half saw things change on both rinks. Pauline T & Gill pulled ahead and with one end to play lead 16-13. The final end saw Pauline T & Gill win the trophy 16-14. Likewise, Colin & Tom closed the gap and established a 15-12 lead with one end to play. The final end was won by Colin & Tom, leading to a 16-12 victory.

Tomorrow morning at 10:30 sees the Triples followed at 2:00pm by the Singles
